Championship Meet Logistics
Meals During Meets
Coach Mike values rest and recovery for your swimmer(s), which means getting back to your hotel as quickly as possible after each session.
To best do this, please, please order a meal while you are still at the pool, that way you can simply swing by the restaurant and pick it up and eat on the way home or back in your room. You will find you can get an extra hour or so of recovery doing things like this, and this will GREATLY improve your swimmers ultimate chance for success!
Parking at a Championship Meet
Even if your hotel is next door or across the street, please drop your swimmer(s) off at the front door, then go park your car. This helps set up your swimmer for success at the meet.
Items for Swimmers to Bring
Some items your swimmer may want to bring for the meet:
Parka (it's cold outside, sometimes on the pool deck)
Extra towels
Stool
Food
Water/drinks
Roller
Voodoo bands
Lacrosse ball
Tech suit (if you have one)
During a Meet
Mike wants everyone to understand that this trip is not meant to be a vacation, but designed to be as successful as possible. These athletes have prepared for months and months for this opportunity, so please do NOT go sight-seeing, shopping, etc until they have completed all of their events for the entire meet. Things like this cost them energy and GREATLY put their chance for success in jeopardy! They are there to focus on the meet. Feel free to go at the end of the meet for your swimmer.
Check-In
It is the sole responsibility of each swimmer to determine when they check in. All meet have their own policies and procedures for check-in, and it is the responsibility of each athlete to take this responsibility upon themselves.
